St. John's wort 1 part
Calendula 2 part
Comfrey root 1 part
Plantian 1 part
Olive oil
Bees wax
Vitamin E
To begin your slave, measure the desired amount of herbs into
an enameled or stainless steel pan, or into a crock pot. Cover
the herbs with oil.
Heat the herbs and oil over a low heat for a few hours (about
3). If you are using roots you should heat the oil longer
(about 5).
After heating, cool your oil for awhile. Set up a strainer lined
with cheesecloth then pour the oil through to strain out the
herbs. Add the bees wax to the oil and heat it until all the wax
is melted. To test to see if your salve is hard enough put some
in a spoon and set it in a cool place for awhile. If your salve is
too soft, add more beeswax. Squeeze the contents of 1 or 2
Vitamin E capsules. Finally, pour your salve into containers
and label.
How much Bees wax? One pint of oil to 1.5 oz. of bees wax, or
for every oz of oil you need about 0.5 teaspoons of bees wax.
There is about 5 teaspoons of bees wax in one oz.
