for Dry or Normal Hair
coconut oil 10oz.
tallow 6oz.
castor oil 4oz.
lye 7oz.
water 20.5oz
rosemary (for dark hair) or chamomile (for light ) oil 3-6 drop
pine oil several drops
for Oily Hair
coconut oil 16 oz.
castor oil 4oz.
olive oil 34 oz.
lye 7oz.
water 20.5 oz.
cinnamon leaf oil 3-6 drops
pine oil several drops
Make as you would any soap. Separately bring the fats and
lye/water mixture to 95F and slowly ad lye mixture to the oils,
stirring constantly. Because of the high oil content, it will take
a while to stir it all in. When the soap is thick and shows
trailing, pour into primary mold. Wrap and treat like soap. Wait
until fully hardened to cut.
To make shampoo bars- Melt the soap and add eos and several
drops of pine. Pour into molds.
To make liquid shampoo- Mix together the following in a
saucepan:
soap 5oz.
water 30oz
pectin 1/2 tsp.
heat mixture until smooth and liquid. Add selected eo's and
pine. Pour into clean bottles.
