Hot Mexican Meatball Soup

          ~~~~BROTH~~~~
          1 minced onion
          1 minced clove of garlic
          2 Tbsp oil
          4 oz tomato sauce
          3 qt. beef stock

          ~~~~MEATBALLS~~~~
          3/4 pound ground beef
          3/4 pound ground pork  or hot sausage
          1/3 cup raw rice
          1/4 cup crushed red pepper
          2 tsp salt
          1/4 tsp pepper
          1 beaten egg

          Saute onion and garlic in oil.  Add tomato sauce and beef stock.  Heat to
          boiling.  Mix meat with rice, egg and spices and shape into 1 inch balls.
          Drop into boiling broth.  Cover tightly and cook 30 minutes.  This recipe
          freezes nicely.
