Lemon Jalapeno Corn Muffins

               1 cup cornmeal
               1 cup flour
               1/3 cup sugar
               4 tsp baking powder
               1 jalapeno chopped finely
               1/4 tsp salt
               1 egg
               1 cup milk
               1/4 cup vegetable oil
               1 Tbsp grated lemon peel

               Combine all ingredients.  Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full.  Bake at
               435 degrees for 15-18 minutes until lightly browned.
