I have had a great many problems with my sinuses for quite a long
while. I have evolved a cocktail of sorts, along with other dietary and
methods of care that have helped a great deal. Ordinarily I was using
powerful antibiotics which would have my entire system in an uproar,
about three times a year for two weeks at a time. I would get the
sinus infection under control, then have to deal with yeast problems. I
would just start to feel better from that, and I would have the sinus
problem recur.
Due to this little recipe, I have had no antibiotics for sinus in 1- 1/2
years now. It works completely in a different manner. BTW, I have
had a Cat scan, and an MRI and was told that the only thing that
would help me was sinus surgery, due to unusually small nasal
passages, which were causing the recurrent infections and ear
symptoms. I was terrified of that prospect, since the surgery sounded
awful. Luckily I discovered this herbal combination around then, and I
have still got the problem, but the awful infections I used to get are
not
there anymore.
Here it is:
1. Give up dairy products.
2. Every evening and every morning use a saline nasal spray to wash
away dust and allergens which could irritate and cause a problem.
3. When an infection seems imminent take the following at bedtime,
in
a little water, and sip....
20 drops of Echinacea tincture
20 drops of Astragalus "
20 " " Golden Seal "
20 drops " Nettle "
This usually helps right away, and that night you can usually breathe.
If the infection seems to be really bad, and the symptoms are still bad
in the morning, do it again. In dire circumstances, you can take this up
to three times a day.
The Astragalus and Echinacea are both immune boosters, and seem
to have some sort of antibiotic kind of activity.
The Golden Seal opens up the passages and lets one breathe better. I
once used this when I had pneumonia, and it worked every bit as well
as the prescription medication I had been given.
The Nettles are an antihistimine.
Naturally, since these are not drugs, dosage is sort of up to you. I
have found the listed amounts to be right for me. You could be
different. I think that in general one should be very conservative when
taking new herbs, since natural products like herbs could produce
allergic reactions. I would be cautious and if none of these have been
tested by you previously, try something like 5 drops of each at first,
to
see if it is compatible with your own personal chemistry. I started
myself with 10 and found that I get the best results with the amounts
shown. Another person may be different, since I realize I have a really
bad chronic problem, and may be requiring higher dosages.
